Huara represents a new project for Artemide: on the one hand we want the light to vary its intensity and direction through phases rather than by moving pieces of a mechanism; on the other hand we want to recognize the fact that the future of lighting is electronic and no longer electric. The potential of electronics is its ability to carry information that allows for multiple ways of interacting, such as a touch screen. Huara represents the synthesis of this innovative reasoning: a dark, mobile sphere, intuitively activated by touch. The name "Huara" refers to the Aymarà population, native of the Atacama desert, the driest and darkest in the world, from which, however, you can see more stars on the planet. Huara's design thus honors both mankind's original light source and state-of-the-art technology.
